Evolution Anyone???
by Steve Josef ini read alot of posts and it seems that though you all (or most) have left the kh, you still believe in a "father" or a "jesus" that created everything.
since i too and one that left the kh, i have delved into science and have come the conculsion that god does not exist in a spirit form, but is life itself.
the "creator" of all things is evolution.

Well, Zep, as you read above some just don't agree with it! lol But the idea of creation is obsurd.Well, as I can tell. And hey how's about larc and jason up there. (I don't think they like each other) :Þ But anyway, with all the reading that I have done, it seems that evolution is the way to go. The first spark may have been an accident, or it may have been done by some one (or thing) But I do believe that from the one spark everything exists today. :)

Very well said larc. :) 2b --- I am very sorry that you are so very angry about this.I didn't want to make anyone mad, It just seems that if you are taught one thing all your life and find out that the lessons you learned were wrong, then it is likely everything is wrong. Even the whole Adam and Eve thingy. Answer me this..... What gives us the right to be so egotistical as to say that a higher being handcrafted us? Is it really that much of an insult to you to say that a higher being didn't put you here? If so, then I am sorry that I insulted you. But I am not that egotistical and I don't think that a higher power has any kind of plan. <Speak of Lucy all you want...... An interesting Email that was sent me :
Where if I may did you ever conclude that evolution happened. the so called ancestor of the horse is more closely related to the tapir than the horse. Then you have the problem that this animal also lost and gained ribs during the evolutionary process, did evolution not make up it's mind?
There is no evidence for evolution, man. read up on the great lie, never happened.
Regards
<name here>An obvious bible believer. It makes me laugh when someone says that evolution could never have happened. But a god who created two people from dirt and then kicked them out only 6 thousand years ago is the likely answer. The latter seems tooooooo funny to me. Number one, we have human remains that man is older than six thousand years old. Number two, quit putting your faith in a book written very long ago by men and filled it with a bunch of stories. It is a story book and that is all.
Here is pretty good website on ancient horse and such leading up to our horses of now http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/natsci/vertpaleo/fhc/Stratmap1.htm
Oh and tapir is a living relative of the horse (and the rhino is also a relative)Horses, rhinos, and tapir are in the hooved family called PERISSODACTYLS.

3 meetings per week NOT FIVE!!!
by sawthelight inam i the only person ever to fall under the influence of the borg who can count?.
no offence all but jws meet three times per week.not five!
i consider the familiar statement about 5 meetings per week to be a good indication of just how indoctrinated a person is.

What does the WTBTS have to gain?
by aud8 ini have a question:.
if the wtbts is so into deceiving everyone and trying to reel in as many newcomers as possible, what does it actually have to gain from this?
why are they always trying to switch teachings to make themselves look "believable"?
-
Steve Josef
If you think about it the WTBTS has ALOT of money to gain. The publications are sold to the member. It is then sold again to the public when the JWs go out preaching. For every publication the WTBTS makes it paid TWICE for the one item. And then it gets donations, so an incredible amount of money passes through!

larc, very well done.
Truth is, I knew that the difference is small. In fact, if you want to se TOTALLY different genes than ours, you have to go alway back to bacteria. EVERYTHING living (higher life forms) has DNA which is up to 80 % exactly the same. No mammal really is different from one one another too greatly on a DNA level. (In fact with the the current gene mappings, it is incredibly hard to differentiate between human's and cat's DNA. hhhhhhmmmmmm So uuuummmm what does that tell all the doubters? We all came from a common source. (Bacteria)

America Bashing
by TR inwith all of the america bashing going on of late, i thought i'd mention the fact that america stands for freedom, as flawed as our system may be.
you're even free to be critical of the government and it's leaders.
the many men and women who have died defending this country did so to preserve the rights even of people who hate the u.s. there are many different cultures here, so there are many different attempts at creating laws for the land.

Well, I don't believe that holidays are BAD per say.I just can't get into them. I don't think that I am the only one. It isn't so much as guilt that comes to mind, it is the feelings of jealousy. It is something that is so very wierd. Let me explain. My girlfriend wants to celebrate. I on the other can't even see why one would want to celebrate. When you are akid, the magic behind it all is installed. You know that Santa is coming and you cant wait. Then when you are an adult, you know there is no Santa, but the magic is there. Because of these JWs - I never got that magic. So it really is tough to get into the holidays. --- KnowwhatImean?
